Can I drive with DoorShox - Car Door Protector attached?
No, DoorShox is designed and intended for parking use only. You should never drive with the door guards attached. Always remove before driving or operating a vehicle.
Will DoorShox car door protector work on vehicles with Aluminum or Fiberglass doors?
No, magnets will not stick to Aluminum, Plastic, or Fiberglass doors.
Can I use the Door Guard in the rain/snow?
Our door guard was designed for outdoor use. Rain will not affect the magnets.
How secure is the security cable and can the suction cup get pulled out?
The security cable is a vinyl-coated steel that cannot be cut with conventional scissors, knifes and box cutters. Once attached the suction cup will keep the security wire in place and prevent someone from pulling the wire out. We added a round nub at the end of the wire as added security. Once the door is shut the security wire is locked in the vehicle.
Can the Valet Edition DoorShox be used on a 4-door vehicle?
The Valet Edition car door protector is designed for use on both 2-door and 4-door vehicles. The Valet Edition car door guard system allows the parking garage attendant to open and close the car door without removing the car door protector.
Can the DoorShox Standard Edition car door guard be used on a 2-door vehicle?
The Standard Edition car door guard can be used on a 2-door vehicle. Simply place one door guard on the door and the other on the rear fender.
How do I clean my car door guard?
Simply wipe top and bottom surfaces of the door guard with a damp cloth. Dry with a lint free towel.
Will the DoorShox Magnetic Car Door Guard scratch my Paint?
DoorShox magnets never come in direct contact with the vehicle. The rare-earth magnets are encased in a soft silicone-like rubber with raised micro ribs to prevent damage to paint finish.*
*DoorShox and vehicle must be cleaned regularly. For best results, regularly clean the door guard surfaces and the car door. A properly maintained DoorShox will not damage or scratch your vehicle’s paint.
The suction cup on the security cable will not attach to the inside glass
Before attaching the suction cup, make sure that both the suction cup and the glass are clean.
